The Sikh wedding ceremony, known as ”Anand Karaj”, means ”Blissful Union”. In this ceremony, two individuals are joined in a partnership as two equals in front of the Guru Granth Sahib (holy book) while their family and friends gather around them, with men on one side and women on the other. The spiritual goal of Sikhism is to merge one’s soul with God, and through marriage, the couple vow to help each other towards this goal. A Sikh wedding is not just a physical or legal contract, but it holds a rather significant spiritual and religious importance for the couple. It is the union of two souls.
Like other South-Asian weddings, Sikh weddings also spread across various days with events like the Roka, Maiyan, Vatna, Jaggo, Sangeet, Mehndi, Anand Karaj and Reception. Traditionally most couples hold their wedding ceremonies at the Gurudwara (Sikh Temple). Alternatively, Sikh destination weddings and wedding ceremonies at home are also popular.

At Karishma Manwani Events, we have extensive experience planning luxury Sikh weddings in the UK and Europe. We tailor our Sikh wedding planning services to each couple and we work around your lifestyle to make this process not only enjoyable but exciting too. We will bring your dream wedding to life by inspiring you and guiding you every step of the way. We will design a wedding that matches you and your partner’s style and personality whilst respecting the Gurudwara’s requirements. If you don’t have a Gurudwara, we will help you find the right one for your guest size. We will arrange the kirtan, dhol players, turban tiers, mehndi ladies and any other vendor to make your Sikh wedding as authentic as possible (not forgetting samosas, jalebi and chai for breakfast). If you are considering a Sikh destination wedding or a wedding at home, we will work with the local Gurudwara and their Granthis to ensure that the Guru Granth Sahib is brought to the wedding location and returned with the utmost care and respect.
Our wedding planning services don’t just end with the wedding day. We will design every pre and post wedding event with care and meticulous attention to detail. Our passion for creating memorable events with our understanding of different cultures means that no element is left to chance, from the flower arrangements to the table numbers.

Our dearest Karishma honestly became family by the end of the wedding festivities. Karishma and her team not only put on a beautiful Sikh wedding at Gravesend Gurdwara but they also hosted a Reception Dinner at The Dorchester Hotel in Park Lane (the biggest wedding event that the Dorchester has ever had!) Our family and friends were taken aback by all the events; the Jago, the Maiyan, the pre-wedding party, the wedding, the post-wedding party and the reception. Each event ran so smoothly and if there were issues, we certainly didn't know about them. We truly couldn't have done anything like this without her!
